Ever since John Harwood reported that
…one adviser told me today those bloggers need to take off their pajamas, get dressed and realize that governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult,
many in the blogosphere have taken umbrage, in particular those who believe Obama “owes” them the White House. (They don’t seem to realize they are just an aspect of “The Media” and are used/handled like any other media outlet by political campaigns.)
This ridiculous kiddy stuff had reached a point where White House senior communications adviser Dan Pfeiffer issued a statement to Greg Sargent
“That sentiment does not reflect White House thinking at all, we’ve held easily a dozen calls with the progressive online community because we believe the online communities can often keep the focus on how policy will affect the American people rather than just the political back-and-forth.”
The fact that some in the blogosphere chose to be annoyed just shows how similar they are to the MSM in their overblown self-importance. There is no such thing as THE blogosphere. There are multiple blogospheres and many are indeed perfectly described by the “basement pyjama” image. I suspect they and the whiners are the same.
