Gaius Julius Caesar would ride his uncanny military prowess all the way to the most powerful position in Roman society. Julius Caesar’s tyrannical rule — chronicled in re-creations, paintings, and narrated testimony from diaries of his Roman contemporaries — would establish and expand a Roman empire that would endure for centuries.
