Who’s running the TSA? No one, thanks to Sen. Jim DeMint

Margaret Talev reports:

WASHINGTON — An attempt to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day would be all-consuming for the administrator of the Transportation Security Administration — if there were one.

The post remains vacant because Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., has held up President Barack Obama’s nominee in opposition to the prospect of TSA workers joining a labor union.

One Response to “Who’s running the TSA? No one, thanks to Sen. Jim DeMint”

  1. Dave Spradley Says:

If this is true, good for Senator DeMint. The LAST thing we need is another government agency controlled by a labor union. If we will be honest with ourselves, we will admit that the PRIMARY problem with the Detroit automakers was the constant and incessant demands made by the UAW. For that matter, the main reason for the economic trouble this country has had for the past 40 years or so is the direct result of union demands for ever increasing pay and benefits with no corresponding increase in productivity.
